Hello folks,

Just in case you haven't found this yet, this is a great map site with decent quest information too.

EQ2Interface has a very nice map mod that tweaks out the mapping window. It adds a fully-interactive map to additional (previously unmapped) zones, and additional waypoints to the existing maps.

It's not expansive yet, but it has exceptional utility, and I recommend installing it (and keeping it current).

Currently, installing UI mods in EQ2 is a PITA. Make sure to read the instructions with the mod and also the EQ2Interface FAQ.

The link to the Advanced Map Window currently requires that you have an EQ2Interface account to download it. They will be moving to a VB.net-based auto updater in the very near future.

maps.eq2interface.com/ is the permanent project address.

If you were stuck on a desert island, and only could bring one UI mod, this is the one you should get!

Hi guys,

EQ2MAP (Everquest 2 Modular Atlas Project) Home Page

This is Eloa, creator of the EQ2MAP website and one of the lead developers of the mod.
I am happy to let you all now that loading it in is no longer a PITA. Nor will it be hard to keep current.
We are convinced that we have created the most modular modification to date with our auto updating system and the dynamic way of handling POI's (mobs, npcs, etc.).
You download the auto updater, and follow the very simple instructions for it, run it, and it will install the entire mod from the website with the LATEST information available. This information is always changing because if you go to the website you can actually submit POI's and they will show up in your game the next time you log in. Not only your game, but everyone's game.
I hope you all enjoy very much.

Chasing HTTP-Referer, hmmn? Very Happy

Still, I appreciate the project leads dropping by, and I have to say that this is truly the most useful UI mod I've ever seen.

Some of the new things they've done is implement a database to track Points of Interest (POI) and an auto-updater which installs the mod and all supporting files into your custom UI folder, as Eloa's already mentioned.

One of the latest enhancement's they've made (which I didn't think they would be able to pull off!) was automatic map switching on the Z-axis. So, for example, when you head down to the basement in Stormhold, it automatically swaps out the next floor. Previous versions of the mod required you to press a button to load the map manually. Similarly, the POI overlays for Antonica and Commonlands automatically load, rather than having to manually load and clear them.

If you're not using this mod, you're working too hard!

Aye, Z axis map swapping. It didn't exist before a couple of updates ago. This is one way to show that the devs not only allow us to make this, but also support it. This issue was added because of us (no SOE maps use z axis swapping).
