Haven't even gotten the game yet - Sony shipped the Collector's Editions late. Everyone who shelled out extra for the fancy version of the game are not scheduled to get it until today - two days after release.

I'm interesting in coordinating a server choice with some of the active players still in EQ, so as we figure that out, we'll post it up here.

Edit:

I've since recieved my Collector's Edition box. It's actually a very nice tin box, lined with velvet (a nice touch that protects the contents). There's a cloth bag with an embroidered EQ2 logo, containing a commemorative coin with a numbered slip. A manual, art book, and a pasteboard "spell book" disc holder containing the Sountrack CD, the two install DVDs and a bonus DVD containing promotional materials such as trailer movies and such. There are also some junk slips in there promoting various hardware manufacturer's stuff. It's actually a pretty nice package, all in all.

I'm playing Toukai on Innothule server at the moment (did I mention the Web-based services are pretty cool, even if the addition fees are a little mercenary?), but as the greater bulk of people haven't yet gotten EQ2 or selected a server, that may change. At the moment, I'm holding off /claiming any items, as Sony's been refusing to refund them or move them to other characters.

Ok, so I got it.... was so sure I wouldn't! I didn't follow it at all, but in the last few days have heard some great things, so I gave it a try. Right now playing Sylinx, on the Ogguk server.

Well I did a 10 day trial on WoW and it was fun. Got almost to 16th level playing a warrior. I picked a Warrior for all the wrong reasons. Wanted to start as a melee, everyone was going with Pallies, Hunter didn't appeal. After playing a while, though I like the warrior, they seem under powered to same level Paladins, may switch.

My Trial ran out and I was unable to find a copy of the game anywhere, so I am sittin' around waitin' for the copy I ordered to arrive. I was impressed that my laptop could play pretty effectively (Centrino 1.4ghz, 512mb RAM,32mb Radeon 9200)....can't wait to see how it works on my new machine (Athlon64 34000+, 1gb RAM, 128mb Radeon 9600pro).

Can't really see myself playin' EQ2 now, just want to play casually, and for short periods of time.

Beefill and Benelor got my into a guild named Templars of Dawn on the Silver Hand server. Seems like a friendly bunch, but really haven't done much with the guild...in fact I've only grouped once :'/ .

Also started a druid on the Ice Crown server trying to hook up with Rhequiem, Nanamook, Winterbourne and ohters...no luck there yet.

Take care all.

Well, I gave EQ2 the old college try..... and well, after getting to level 22 with a Berserker and 21 as a Monk, I just got bored frankly. Seems like grouping was a necessity, and most of the groups I got into were, let me just say, not the best.

So, I picked up WoW, against my initial hesitency. Originally, it didn't look like my kind of game. I have to say, however, that I am having an absolute blast. I haven't narrowed it down to what class I like the best so far, but I expect that to come soon.

I'm willing to relocate servers, provided its a smaller server with none of the queue crap. Ailwon, if you want, look me up sometime on Azjol-Nerub.. its one of the smallest servers, and I have yet to have any problems with it. My characters are: (Horde) Malrasha, Cynar, Malchior and (Alliance) Kheldor.
