GREETING
Dear friends, out of love and affection for Moonwisper and Diatomic we have gathered together to witness and bless their mutual vows which will unite them in marriage.
To this moment they bring the fullness of their hearts as a treasure to share with one another.
They bring the dreams that bind them together.
They bring that particular personality and spirit which is uniquely their own, and out of which will grow the reality of their life together.
We rejoice with them at the outward declaration of an inward union of hearts, a union created by friendship, respect and love.
STATEMENT OF INTENT
: turns to the couple
Moonwisper and Diatomic, if you have come here freely and with love, signify by saying, "Aye"?
MOONWISPER: Aye
DIATOMIC: Aye
STATEMENT OF MARRIAGE
: addresses the assembled
Marriage is a relationship that embodies all the warmth and precious values that grow out of companionship and love.
We enter it joyfully and in the knowledge that love is both our highest achievement and life's most precious gift.
Into this relationship with deep commitment and high expectations Moonwisper and Diatomic come now to join themselves.
"Above you are the stars, below you the stone.
As time does pass remember...like a star should you be constant
Like a stone should your love be firm. Be close, yet not too close.
Possess one another, yet be understanding.
Have patience each with the other for storms will come, but they will go quickly.
Be free in giving of affection and warmth.
Have no fear, and let not the ways or words of strangers give you unease."
To say the words love and compassion is easy. But to accept that love and compassion are built upon patience and perseverance is not easy. Your marriage will be firm and lasting if you remember this.
EXCHANGE OF VOWS
I will now ask the bride to answer the following question…
: faces Moonwisper
Do you, Moonwisper, promise to give this man the love of your person, the comfort of your companionship, and the patience of your understanding?
Will you share with him equally the necessities of life as they may be earned or enjoyed by yourself and to respect the dignity of his personal rights?
MOONWISPER: I do.
: faces Diatomic
And you, Diatomic:
Do you Diatomic Mystweaver promise to give this woman the love of your person, the comfort of your companionship, and the patience of your understanding?
Will you share with her equally the necessities of life as they may be earned or enjoyed by yourself and to respect the dignity of her personal rights?
DIATOMIC: I do.
EXCHANGE OF RINGS
Traditionally, the marking of the passage to the status of husband and wife is marked by the exchange of rings.
The rings you give and receive this day are the symbols of the endless love into which you enter as husband and wife.
Such a love has no beginning and no ending, no giver and no receiver.
You are each the beginning and the ending, each the giver and the receiver.
Diatomic, please repeat after me: "Moonwisper, I give you this ring to wear as a symbol of our love for each other. With this ring, I thee wed."
DIATOMIC: Moonwisper, I give you this ring to wear as a symbol of our love for each other. With this ring, I thee wed.
DIATOMIC: : places ring on Moonwisper's hand
Moonwisper, please repeat after me: "Diatomic, I give you this ring to wear as a symbol of our love for each other. With this ring, I thee wed."
MOONWISPER: Diatomic, I give you this ring to wear as a symbol of our love for each other. With this ring, I thee wed.
MOONWIPSER: : places ring on Diatomic's hand
These two lives are now joined in one unbroken circle. Wherever they go, may they always return to one another in their togetherness.
May they always find in each other the love for which all men and women long. May they grow together in understanding and in compassion.
And may these two rings symbolize the spirit of undying love in their hearts.
DECLARATION AND PRESENTATION
Family and friends, this is a moment of celebration. Let it also be a moment of dedication.
The world does a good job of reminding us of how fragile we are. Individuals are fragile; relationships are fragile too.
Every marriage needs the love, nurture, and support of a network of friends and family.
On this wedding day I ask you not only to be friends of Moonwisper or Diatomic, but friends of Moonwisper and Diatomic together, friends of the relationship.
: addresses Moonwisper and Diatomic
"Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
Go to your dwelling thus entering into the days of your life together.
And may your days be good, and long upon the earth."
Moonwisper and Diatomic, you have come here today in front of your family and friends to state your commitment to each other.
You have made the promises that will be the foundation for your marriage, and have exchanged rings that will symbolize your vows and your love to the world.
But remember that marriage is not a destination, but a journey.
It is not an officiate standing before you that makes your marriage real. It is the continuing honesty and sincerity of your love for one another.
May you be blessed with a lifetime as partners in happiness, and may you always be blessed in your hearts with the wonder of this special day.
As the sweetest things in life are sealed with a kiss - It is my pleasure to now pronounce you husband and wife.
Diatomic, you may now kiss your bride.
: turns to all assembled
Ladies and gentlemen, with your love and attention, our end has been achieved. I present to you, husband and wife Moonwisper and Diatomic Mystweaver.
