But but but but!!!! he's CUTE! and he's not going to stay small... -likes big dogs... small one are only good for learning how to make a goal in football...- and hes gentle... he's never trying to eat me well except when I have a treat in my hand and he is really happy and then finds my finger by accident... anyway the point is he doesn't go LOOKING to eat me

actually we got rid of the kitties... I believe I am alergic to them Couldn't stop sneazing(sp) and I have never liked in door animals unless it was my birdies and even they stayed out side a lot in the HUGE aviary we built them. Right now he is keeping me awake though ALL night long with his wimpering... I feel almost mean because I'm making him sleep in the basement till it warms up a bit to go outside. Then before he can go outside I have to secure our backyard fence so he can run free and then maybe I can FINALY get some sleep

Why is he whimpering all night? Cuz he is down in the cold dark basement all alone? Is he going to be a full time out door dog?

No, we'll let him inside on occasion but he is going to be a main out side dog. He will sleep, eat, crap, and play out there but we want him familar with the inside of our home too that way he knows if something is out of place... Like say oh a person? My mum isn't exactly a spring chicken anymore and we want him to learn how to fetch a phone or attract attention if need be

Ah ok .....Why not just have him a full inside dog that goes outside now and then....and of course to crap always lol...That way he is always there to look out for your mom and such. Cuz if he is a full time outside dog and only comes in now and then he will forget how to act in the house, been there done that....but if you keep him in and let him out side for a couple hours a day to exercise etc he will be a better protector for your mom. Just my opinion smiles

well it's a good opinion but I have never wanted an inside pet... the hair everywhere just gets to me. letting him in for a few hours to get to know the family isn't going to hurt too much and is easily cleaned up. As for my mum, when she is home someone else is home normally. It is just an added precaution that she can let him in when she wants and feel a bit more safe... he isn't gonig to be a guard dog or anything we are just hoping he'll be smarter than the average mutt
