Halo 2 Midnight Launch Event |
The defeat of the Covenant in the first Halo game was only a temporary victory, as the alien attackers have renewed their mission to wipe out all of humanity. Despite the human military force's and Master Chief's efforts, the Covenant have breeched the Earth's defenses and have left its inhabitants in a dismal situation. In the midst of desperation, players assume the role of Master Chief and lead the resistance against the Covenant to save the people of Earth from a gruesome demise. Halo 2 will feature an immense and epic single player mode, as the story picks up where it ended in the first game. In addition to the single player mode, Halo 2 will also feature a redesigned multiplayer mode. While the first game limited players to LAN connectivity, Halo 2 takes multiplayer missions online by way of Xbox Live.
In New York, Toys "R" Us Times Square will be the epicenter of "Halo 2" activities in the United States. Legions of dedicated fans are expected to line the streets waiting for the chance to be among the first to own the coveted game. Across every time zone, more than 7,000 retailers are also planning "midnight madness" events. A complete list of retail outlets opening at 12:01 a.m. can be found online at url=http://www.xbox.com/en-us/halo2/storelocator.htm]http://www.xbox.com/en-us/halo2/storelocator.htm[/url].
"With more than 1.5 million copies already preordered, day-one sales of 'Halo 2' look to herald the biggest 24 hours in entertainment retail history," said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of worldwide publishing and marketing for Xbox at Microsoft Corp. "By the end of this week the world will be playing 'Halo 2' -- and with our Xbox Live(TM) online service, fans will literally be banding together across the globe to fend off Covenant invaders." |

EverQuest II Preview on Jaded-Gamer |
Jaded-Gamer has an article entitled: "EverQuest 2 - A Sneak Peak," which gives a pretty comprehensive overview of the game. The article goes beyond the superficial marketed aspects of the game, and covers pretty well the different aspects of gameplay involved. Definitely worth a read for players who haven't had the same hands-on experience through the Beta. |
